Fresh Colors

This card was a little out there for me but I really like the color combination. I used a border punch that I just love from ek success called scroll & dots, Versa Mark on the Taken With Teal layer from SU and the stamp I used was a SU favorite called Baroque Motif. I added some yellow Flowersoft on some of the flowers for interest and texture. Hope you like the card.
On a side note - I will be off line until the end of the week. I am going to go visit my Mom and she doesn't have internet and when she did, it was dial up. Eek! Anyway, have a great week and I should be back later on this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Old Favorite

Today's card was made using some DP that I've had for a long time....probably 3 years or so. I have used it a lot but this will be the last time since I finally was able to eek out one more card. But that's it...all gone. Anyway, I cut the flowers out from the design on the paper; I forget to do that usually with other paper that has a nice design on it but as you can see it's a great way to get a really cohesive design. I used giant metal brads in the middle of each flower and the sentiment is from a stamp from Hobby Lobby. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Black and Yellow

Today's card is one inspired by this card on Pickled Paper Designs. I just love Amy Sheffer's designs. She inspires me every day! I used several different DP from my stash. Most of it is just scraps that I've had for a while so I can't remember where they're from but I can tell you that the funky one that looks like some sort of reptile; I got at Joanne's. I think it's just the coolest. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Easter Card Two

Here's another Easter card that was inspired from the Mojo Monday challenge. The carrots were made from an old punch that I've had for many years. The cute little bunny is a digi from Digital Delights. Isn't he just the cutest? The paper is "Garden Variety" from a Cosmo Cricket mini deck. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Easter Card

Today I'm posting an Easter card. It is very low bling for me but I do like the pastel colors. I also used SU's kraft paper which I think contrasts nicely with all the light colors. The grass was made with a very cool tool from Martha Stewart called fringe scissors. I got mine at Michaels's. It's a quick card but I think it turned out pretty well. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

You say Spring-I think Cricut!

Right? Crickets are bugs, bugs come out in the Spring... Ok, a bit of a stretch! Anyway, this card I made for a couple of friends who just got their first Cricut machine. They are sooooo excited so I thought this would be fun. Remember when you got yours? I felt like it was a new addition to the family! I basically scanned a picture of the Cricut cricket (don't you think he should have a about Chirpy,Bugsy,Jiminy?)  Then I traced and paper pieced him. Had to do it all free hand because his head isn't perfectly round so my cuts aren't perfect. Then I added flowers and of course...bling! Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Holy Cow!

Maybe I should say holy chicken. Have you ever had one of those days where the creative juices just don't flow? Well, that's what's going on with me today. I decided to try my hand at Mojo Monday's current challenge and I had a heck of a time. I finally reached for one of my all time favorite stamps... SU's Best of Cluck! This image always makes me laugh and guess saved the day! I added a couple of fun circle is actually egg shaped, denim for one of the accents and a tiny little frying pan brad. I know, that's just wrong but I love it! Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Fun

Happy Monday everyone! Today I made a card along with a bonus....a matching gift card holder. I made this for a friend so I hope she doesn't see this before I give it to her! I decided on pink and brown which is a favorite color combination of mine. The print paper is Me & My Big Ideas and the white paper is Archiver's shimmer paper. I also used a Cuttlebug folder to emboss the white square. For the gift card holder, I actually bought one, traced around it and made one that matched the birthday card a little better. I used Archiver's shimmer paper to make the purse because it's a very heavy card stock and it worked out really well. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

St. Patty's Day card challenge

This is my entry for the challenge over at There's Magic In The Air. The challenge was to use this digi along with some kind of metal. I used metallic gold paper for the coins floating on the background and also as matting for the image behind the green nestie. Hope you like it, happy St. Patty's Day and thanks for stopping by!

Just For Fun

I started daydreaming about the day where we could fire up the grill and have a nice cook out without wearing snow boots and mittens. So....I decided to make a hamburger. I just basically pieced it together using my Creative Memories circle and oval cutters. I used a lot of chalk and the crinkle cutter from Fiskars to create the pickles. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Monday's card

Today I made a card to submit as a challenge using anything from the My Time Made Easy line. The great thing is that free samples were provided so no purchase necessary (even though I could buy EVERYTHING I it all) Anyway...enough of that. I down loaded the digi-stamp called Water and Waverly Wiggles. So cute and you can find it HERE. I used some gorgeous dp found exclusively at Archivers called Sunsplashed. It has lots of sparkle and bling so it is so me! Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge #23

Here's my entry for the challenge over at The Diva Stamper blog.
This card was one of those that you work on for a while...put on again....put aside and then finally come up with something. I used one of my favorite flower stamps that I think I purchased at Archivers. The black and white flocked paper is from the same Me & My Big Ideas paper pad that I used in the last post and the curly cue things are from the Home Decor Cricut cartridge. The orangey paper is supposed to be more of a coral as it is called "Deep Caribbean Coral" from ColorMates card stock but it really photographed much lighter. You may not be able to tell but I glued tiny black seed beads on the center of each flower to give them some texture and I rolled the edges of the top flower around a pencil to make it "pop up" a little. The little sentiment is from a stamp pack that I got at Archiver's called Mini Messages by Impression Obsession. Hope you like what you see and thanks for stopping by!

Friday's Card

Today I decided to enter the challenge over at Mojo Monday. The bg paper is out of a paper pad from Me & My Big Ideas. The color of the background paper is a little more greenish than it shows in the photo and I love it! I used Nestabilities' standard large circles dies and the sentiment is from Stampabilities. The butterflies are Martha Stewart and of course, I added some random black rhinestones here and there. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Just a funny card....

Today I have a card that I want to share with you that just kinda tickles my funny bone. I love this stamp and I had a blast creating this card. The stamp is from Rubbernecker , her name is Ethel and the CS is from Archiver's. I added a little sprinkling of Flower Soft to her slippers just for fun. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Wednesday!

Today I created a card for the challenge on the Our Creative Corner blog. I used the French Script background stamp from Stampin 'Up and the DP is by s.e.i. from the Moravia series. The dragonfly stamp is from Michael's and I used lots of copper embossing powder and metal embellishments that I purchased from the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Kansas City. (If you've never been it's a lot of fun and you get to see sooo much! Check for a location and date nearest to you if you're interested - HERE.) Hope you like what I've come up with and thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday challenge entry...GROOVY!

Good evening everyone! I decided to try my hand at creating a card for Tuesday's challenge on A Spoon Full of Sugar's blog. The challenge was to use beads and I was so excited! As you'll see on my card I used a ribbon with seed beads dangling from it. I've had the ribbon forever and was happy to be able to use it....finally! The colors I used are not normally what I gravitate to but had to match the colors in the beads. I think it turned out pretty...groovy! I used a stamp set from Michael's (their own brand- Recollections) called "Feelin' Groovy". The orange star ribbon is from Making memories and the bead ribbon is from Hobby Lobby found in the clearance bin. I used Copic markers to color everything and I used the Copic airbrush to make everything look psychadelic. If you don't have an airbrush, it's really something I'm glad I invested in. I don't have the compressor, just the cans of air...but I really like it just the same. Here's what it looks like just in case you have never seen one. Copic Airbrush System
On a side note - thanks for the kind words from my first three followers! I know I'm going to really have fun doing this...especially looking forward to meeting all those great people out there who love this craft as much as I do!

And here's the inside......

First Day

Good afternoon! As you can tell by the title of this post, this is my first day on my new blog. I'm very new at this so if you have any suggestions for me....I welcome them. I'm going to start by posting a card just for practice. I don't have the recipe for it as I made it a while ago, sorry. Hopefully you can gain a bit of inspiration or you may see something that will give you an idea or two. I hope you like what I create and I look forward to your comments!
